Loser: Kyle Busch’s Right Front Tire
Kyle Busch had a big opportunity on Sunday night. Charlotte was one of just two tracks that he had never won a race at.
With six finishes in either second or third, Busch certainly hadn’t raced poorly at the track in the past and two of his wins this season had come at 1.5-mile tracks (Texas and Kansas).
Once the race started, it was obvious that Busch was not going to be in a position to win. He started in 16th and stayed around that position as his car just simply didn’t have the speed to contend. In a late-race effort to earn a quality finish Busch was able to work himself up to ninth place, but his night ended soon after.
5 to go! @KyleBusch has hit the wall, and taken it to the garage. No caution. #askMRN

With five laps to go, Busch hit the wall and blew a right front. He was able to make it back around to pit road without a caution coming out, but he immediately went to the garage and ended the race in 33rd, his second-to-worst finish of the season.
Busch lost a great chance at a hard-earned top-10 and next weekend, he’ll be racing at Pocono, another track that he has never won at.
