Winner: Martin Truex Jr.

You could probably see this one coming before you even clicked on this article, but Martin Truex Jr. was the biggest winner of the night.

In a determined effort to avoid another heartbreak, Truex led 392 of 400 laps, meaning he was leading for 588 miles of the race. He had a perfect driver rating of 150.0 in his outright dominant performance on Sunday night.

It was a night of redemption for Truex as fans watched on, hoping his bad luck would stay away for just one race. He was nearly perfect on every restart, never completely falling behind another driver, and he held a lead of at least a second for most of the night, with times in the three to five second range also appearing.

Truex has benefitted greatly by switching to Toyota this season and he finally got his win after a narrow defeat at Daytona and two disappointing finishes after big days at Texas and Kansas.

It was just the fourth Cup Series win of his career as Truex looks set to embark on another deep journey into the Chase this season.

Whether it was Truex finally breaking through this season or the joy that was seen in himself and his girlfriend, Sherry Pollex, it was just one of those awesome nights in NASCAR where we got to see something special take place.
