Winner: Brad Keselowski’s Avoided Disaster

The race opened up with little to no drama as the field ran 46 clean laps before the first caution came out.

At that point in time, Brad Keselowski was the only car yet to visit pit road, as green flag stops were just about finished. He got around the track to begin Lap 46, when it became apparent that he had an issue.

Keselowski had been trying to stretch his fuel for as long as possible but he had stretched a little too far and had run out of gas. It was set to be a disastrous period of time for the No. 2 car as he was trying to get all the way back around the track and into pit road.

Fortunately for him, Martin Truex Jr. spun out in between Turns 3 and 4 after Clint Bowyer moved down and got him loose.

Keselowski was able to make a full recovery and ended up finishing in 4th place after challenging his teammate, Joey Logano, for the lead late in the race.
