Loser: Trevor Bayne’s Late Battles

The last quarter of the race got pretty wild for Trevor Bayne.

First, while diving into Turn 1, Bayne got loose and slid up the track, slapping Jimmie Johnson’s left side a couple of times. Johnson was obviously not happy at the No. 6 car as he drove up behind it, gave it a bump and proceeded to drive by with his hand out the window net.

Bayne chimed in over the radio afterwards and stated that he had simply gotten loose and and that the move wasn’t intentional.

Later on after that, he nearly got into it with Jamie McMurray. As Bayne operated behind the No. 1 car, McMurray became the second driver to throw a hand out the window net, as he was confused by the No. 6 car’s moves.

Bayne avoided any further conflict and went on to finish in 15th, the highest finish for any member of Roush Fenway Racing.
