NASCAR Will Remove Talladega From Chase Ahead of 2017

It’s just not enough.

Sure, removing Talladega as the cut-off race was a good start to correct the massive safety problems that have plagued plate-races over the last year or so, but it’s not going to be enough to eliminate the problem entirely. To do that, NASCAR is going to need to do the right thing for the drivers and take Talladega out of the Chase entirely.

The spring Talladega race, which featured ten cautions, 36 wrecked racecars and some of the most shocking crashes to date at the track, should have been enough for NASCAR to stop playing with fire. However, it’s going to take another long and wreck-filled day at Talladega Superspeedway to show NASCAR that The Chase can’t have such a dangerous race in it.
