Kyle Busch (2009)

Don’t you love those rare moments? Those moments when the thing you never believed would happen actually ended up happening right before your eyes? Wouldn’t that be a moment you would want to remember for the rest of your life? That’s exactly what happened at the conclusion of the 2009 Coke Zero 400 as Kyle Busch blocked Tony Stewart one too many times and ended up in the wall.

The incident occurred at the last turn of the 400 mile race, when Kyle Busch went down to block Tony Stewart from taking the lead, but ended up getting clipped and turned into the wall instead. Stewart ended up winning the race, much to the joy of almost every race fan in the stands, and Kyle Busch wound up getting nailed from behind by Kasey Kahne, which took out several other cars at the finish.

Perhaps the biggest shock of the night was after the wreck when Kyle Busch decided not to confront Tony Stewart about the incident. Sure, one could argue that Busch knew he was in the wrong for mirror driving and that it was just a product of hard racing for the win, but you would think that Busch’s temper would at least result in a shouting match after the race.
