The Underdog: Ryan Newman

Stats at New Hampshire:

  • Wins: 3
  • Top-5’s: 7
  • Top-10’s: 17
  • Laps Led: 722

Ryan Newman hasn’t won a race since 2013, but he’s had some great runs over the years at Loudon.

His three wins at the track ties him with Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart for the most among active drivers. His first win there served as his first overall win in the Cup Series, when he won the pole and led 143 laps. His next win came in 2005 and then his most recent win at the track came in 2011 when he won the pole again and led 119 laps.

In his career at Loudon, Newman has won the pole seven different times, the most in Cup Series history. His 722 laps led is second to only Tony Stewart.

While he’s led just two laps there in his last eight races, Newman has managed to put together four top-10 finishes.
