Winner: A Late Push

We saw Tony Stewart earn a dramatic victory at Sonoma earlier in the season and we saw him clinch a Chase berth by getting into the top-30 in the point standings after Daytona, but Stewart has not let off the gas just yet.

Last weekend at Kentucky he finished in 5th and this weekend at New Hampshire, he came through for another top-5, finishing 2nd.

It was a weird day to say the least. Stewart was competitive throughout the entire race but never really looked like a contender. Suddenly, after one of the late cautions, he was in 6th place and he proceeded to pass four cars ahead of him in a span of about 10 laps.

Though he wasn’t able to chase down Matt Kenseth in the final laps, it was special to watch a legend continue to push forward and earn another great finish.

Tony Stewart is getting hot at the right time and is starting to look like his old self behind the wheel. If he continues to put together consistent racing, he’ll be a real threat in the Chase.
