Winner: Ford

Ford may be one of the three manufacturers in NASCAR today, but past Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski, they don’t have any other drivers that compete on a weekly basis.

Sure, there’s Roush Fenway Racing, Wood Brothers Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports, but you can count on one hand exactly how many times any of their drivers have even gotten close to winning a race this season.

For the past couple of seasons, Ford has relied solely on gaining recognition in the Cup Series through Team Penske. However, Chris Buescher, who is a part of Front Row Motorsports, represented a new Ford driver in Victory Lane this weekend.

In fact, it was the first time that a Ford driver without the last name of Logano or Keselowski had earned a win since Aric Almirola won a rain-shortened race at Daytona back in 2014.

While the addition of Stewart-Haas racing will certainly help Ford in 2017, seeing a new driver win had to be a big boost for their hopes of spreading their success to other teams.
