No. 1 A crazy last lap fight gives the victory to Marcos Ambrose (2012).

The Watkins Glen finish that has probably stuck the most in the fans’ memory though is the three-way battle for the win in 2012. With two laps to go Kyle Busch had a big gap over the Marcos Ambrose and Brad Keselowski duo. The advantage quickly decreased though and as the white flag flew the three were all together fighting for the victory. In the entrance to the esses Busch spun out after contact with the Penske driver leaving just two drivers in contention.

Keselowski was leading with a slight tire rub but Ambrose was all over his back bumper. They flew through the chicane and when the Australian driver saw an opportunity in turn five he dove in it taking the lead away. The battle then continued, with Keselowski bumping Ambrose out of the track in an attempt to regain the first spot. It was not enough though, because the road-course ace came quickly back on the racing surface and had the preferred line going into the last corner. Under the checkered flag it was Ambrose who won in dramatic fashion for the second straight year at the Glen.
