Winner: Burnouts

Sunday’s race marked Tony Stewart’s final trip to Bristol Motor Speedway. Stewart had earned only one win at the track (2001) but always enjoyed his visits.

This time around, things didn’t go so well for the three-time champion. He was lapped early on in the race and the rest of the day continued to go downhill.

Eventually he had to deal with a broken wheel hub that led to a 30th-place finish, but it was what happened after the race that made everything worth it. Much like his lap around Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Jeff Gordon, Stewart was honored after the race.

Teammate Kevin Harvick–who had just finished off his second victory of the season–invited Stewart for a lap that turned into burnouts for both drivers.

The moment created some memorable pictures and served as another one of those final season memories to remember about one of NASCAR’s most popular drivers.
