Contender No. 3: Matt Kenseth

Stats at Michigan:

  • Wins: 3
  • Top-5’s: 14
  • Top-10’s: 20
  • Laps Led: 435

Among active drivers, Matt Kenseth is the most impressive when it comes to Michigan.

Throughout his 34 starts at the track, Kenseth has earned the most top-5’s of any active driver with 14. He’s managed to win three times with the first coming in 2002, the second coming in 2006 and the third coming in August of 2015.

That race was a dominating performance from Kenseth, who led 146 of 200 laps after starting from the pole.

To go along with his many accomplishments at Michigan, he also has an average finish of 10.3 there as he has just three finishes of 20th or worse in his career.

It’s been a season of more success for Kenseth who just doesn’t seem to slow down. Many view him as the next driver to retire after Gordon and Stewart, but at this rate, he’ll stay in the car for at least a few more years.

Matt Kenseth is set for another great weekend at Michigan.
