Winner: The Busch Brothers’ Late Runs

It was an interesting day for Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch. They were both above 12th in the standings coming into Sunday’s race, but both needed good days in order to have a little bit of breathing room heading to Dover.

After all was said and done, Kyle finished 3rd and Kurt finished 5th. Here’s how it happened:

Kyle Busch ran well all day but made a bold move late. During a caution, he chose to come down pit road. As a result, he came out as the first driver with fresh tires–and it showed. His next run saw him climb all the way up to 3rd and battle for the lead on a couple of late restarts.

Kurt Busch had a solid day but had an issue late. After a slow pit stop, he was forced back in the pack but made a few moves late that helped him get back into the race and move up 15 points on the 13th position.

While Kyle has definitely been the better Busch brother this year, they both had great finishes today and will both be looking to secure a spot in the Round of 12 next weekend.
