NASCAR: Winners And Losers From Kansas

Winner: Responding To Misfortune
Kevin Harvick has been the best Chase driver since the new format was adopted in 2014. He’s always responded to criticism and has made it to the Championship 4 in both seasons.
Throughout the process, he’s managed to overcome a lot of adversity. As I’ve mentioned in previous articles, he put on a dominating performance at Dover to keep his Chase hopes alive last season. Then he made a controversial move at Talladega to get to the Round of 8. This season he he fell into a hole early at Chicagoland and then won the next weekend at New Hampshire to get to the Round of 12.
Then, most recently, he finished 38th at Charlotte and bounced back to win this week’s race at Kansas.
It’s become a habit for him. Whenever he goes down early, he comes back with a clutch performance right when people start to count him out. Think about it. Besides his two wins, he’s finished 20th, 37th and 38th in this year’s Chase, but his big races have already helped him clinch a spot in the Round of 8.
