The Five Greatest IndyCar Finishes Since 2012

No. 4: Indianapolis, 2015
In 4th place, we have the 4th closest finish in Indianapolis 500 history. Juan Pablo Montoya, after rallying from 30th place after early contact in the race, came back to get into contention for the victory with teammate Will Power and polesitter Scott Dixon.
Despite Montoya nearly losing control of his car in turn two with five laps to go and making slight contact with Dixon on the backstretch with four laps to go, Montoya was able to hang with Power and battle for the lead. While Dixon lost all of his momentum from the slight contact with Montoya and fell back to 4th place, Montoya kept right on plugging along.
With an outside pass of Will Power at the start/finish line with three laps to go, Montoya hung on for the improbably victory over Power by just 0.1045 seconds, and winning his second Indianapolis 500 in only three attempts.
