No. 8: Tony Stewart ($12 million)

Tony Stewart walked away from NASCAR following the 2016 season and he did so as on of the sports’ top-earners.

Despite some fans calling 2016 his retirement season, Stewart is by no means retired from racing or NASCAR in general. Stewart is still one of the owners for SHR and he was on hand this past weekend to watch SHR win their first Daytona 500 courtesy of Kurt Busch. Stewart himself was never able to win a Daytona 500, something that his fans thought he might try to do this season since he was not able to compete in the 2016 Daytona 500 due to injury.

Stewart’s life outside of NASCAR is still filled with a lot of racing. As recently as a few weeks ago, Stewart was already committed to running more than 70 dirt-track races this season.
