A New Manufacturer Earns Their First Win

Ford has been getting all the attention over these last two weeks, but that’s about to change.

Both Toyota and Chevrolet are still looking to get their first wins of the season, but at Las Vegas we will have a new manufacturer win a race for the first time this season.

In the driver standings right now the top three spots are occupied by Ford drivers, but both Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson, who drive Chevys are close behind.

And after the race at Atlanta last week, where Kyle Larson almost earned his second win in NASCAR’s premiere series, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if one of these drivers ends up in Victory Lane on Sunday.

But what about Toyota and their drivers? While certain top Toyota drivers like Kyle Busch are far behind in the points, he’s won at Las Vegas before and could win again on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr. ran well at Atlanta last week and is carrying a lot of momentum from his fantastic year in 2016. His highest finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway was second back in 2015. He will be starting Sunday’s race from second place and Truex might have a car fast enough to get out in front and hold the lead.

Ford is going to continue to run strong during the Kobalt 400, but look for one of the other manufacturers to win their first race on the season at Las Vegas on Sunday.
