No. 2 – Chip Ganassi Racing w/ Felix Sabates

  • Previous Week: N/A
  • Auto Club Results: Kyle Larson (1st) and Jamie McMurray (6th)

It took a month but Kyle Larson finally broke through and got himself a win. After three weeks of finishing in second place, Larson finally won this past weekend in Fontana, his second win of his NASCAR Cup Series career.

While a lot of the focus has been on Larson this season, and rightfully so, his teammate Jamie McMurray is also off to a nice start. McMurray has four top-15 finishes this season, including three top-10 runs. McMurray wasn’t listed as a favorite by many to win a race in 2017 but if he continues to run like this, a win might just happen.

Now that Larson has gotten his first win out of the way this season the sky will be the limit for the driver of the No. 42 machine. Larson will enter Martinsville was the point’s leader and one of the favorites to win. Moving forward this season Larson will shift from a dark horse to win each week to a favorite.
