  • Previous Week: N/A
  • Auto Club Results: Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (22nd) and Trevor Bayne (23rd)

It’s never a good week when one wreck takes out your entire team but that’s what happened to RFR when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne were both involved in the same crash. The result was both drivers losing out on what appeared to be top-20 finishes.

For Stenhouse the finish outside of the top-20 followed the trend of his up-and-down season through five races. Stenhouse has high finishes of 13th and 4th this season but sandwiched around those are finishes of 31st, 33rd and 22nd.

For Bayne, the 23rd-place finish was his worst finish of the season and the first time that he has finished outside of the top-20. The finish also marks the continuation of the current downward trend that Bayne and the No. 6 machine is on.  Since finishing 10th in the Daytona 500, Bayne has finished worse each week (12th, 13th, 19th and 23rd). While this is purely happenstance, it’s certainly a trend that Bayne would like to break this weekend in Martinsville.

In the same token, Stenhouse would like to discontinue the trend of alternating good and bad finishes.
