NASCAR: 5 Predictions For The Food City 500 At Bristol
Bristol Gets Rained Out
NASCAR has been lucky this season and has avoided rescheduling a race due to rain.
At Bristol this weekend their streak of luck won’t continue. The weather forecast is looking bleak for Bristol this weekend and according to weather.com, the rain is supposed to start Friday and won’t be letting up until Monday.
This will not only change the starting day and time of the Food City 500, but it’s also canceled qualifying and impacted practice sessions.
The Monster Energy Series isn’t the only series that will be impacted by rain this weekend though. The Xifinity Series could also be rained out and rescheduled as well.
All of this will end up impacting how drivers compete at Bristol when the race does go green. There could be little to no rubber on the track since all pre-race events would be canceled. How will the grip around this bull ring change without rubber? Will drivers have to deal with sliding around the track? How many lines will drivers be able to run with little no rubber?
It could end up being difficult to pass because of the lack of grip, so drivers could be bumping each other more than normal to try and gain position for each of the stages.
Teams and drivers may have been preparing for a Sunday race, but Mother Nature might have other plans.
NASCAR’s luck runs out this weekend as bad weather pushes the Food City 500 to Monday.
