Redemption for Joey Logano

Joey Logano may have won the race at Richmond a couple of weeks ago, but after the 22 car failed post-race inspection, that race win will no longer count towards getting him into the playoffs. Logano can still fail to make the cut when the playoffs start, so he is looking for another win to lock him into the post-season this time.

When it comes to Kansas Speedway, Logano has two wins. One came in 2014 with the other coming in 2015. He has an average finish of 17.67 at the track and will be starting in the front row after qualifying in second place on Friday.

Winning on Saturday night will not be an easy task for Logano. He is still without crew chief Todd Gordon, which can put a driver at a major disadvantage on a track like Kansas.

Will interim crew chief Miles Stanley be able to make the right calls to put Logano in a position to win during the final stage? Will he be able to make the right calls to help Logano gain speed throughout the race? These and other major decisions will happen throughout the Go Bowling 400 on Saturday night, and the slightest error could cost the 22 team the race.

Even without his normal crew chief, Logano remains one of the best drivers in NASCAR. If he can stay out front after qualifying well and if the 22 team can avoid making mistakes during the race, Logano will end up in Victory Lane on Saturday night, not only locking himself into the playoffs, but redeeming the penalty he suffered after the Richmond race.
