The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season is in its sixth race with the Indianapolis 500. Who looks solid early on after the second practice session?

Team Penske’s Will Power topped the second practice session for the Indianapolis 500 with a top lap speed of 224.656 miles per hour (40.061 seconds) around the 4-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

While he did not post the top speed of the month, Power led a top 3 Chevrolet sweep of the speed chart with his teammate Helio Castroneves finishing the session in 2nd place and Gabby Chaves finishing in 3rd.

The fastest Honda driver in the practice session was 2014 Indy 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, who finished 4th fastest on the speed chart. Chevrolet drivers took eight of the top 12 spots on the speed chart while Honda drivers took the following eight spots. Like yesterday, of the 33 race entrants, only Buddy Lazier did not practice today.

Here is the full finishing order of the second practice session. See lap speeds and times and other technical information about today’s practice session here.
