Helio Castroneves Tops Final Indianapolis 500 Practice Session on Carb Day

The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season is in its sixth race with the Indianapolis 500. Who looks solid coming off of the final practice session for the race?

Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves topped the final practice session for the Indianapolis 500 on Carb Day with a top lap speed of 227.377 miles per hour (39.582 seconds) around the 4-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

While Castroneves in his Chevrolet topped the speed chart, Honda drivers made up six of the top 7 spots in this practice session.The fastest Honda driver was Takuma Sato, who was 2nd fastest in the session.
