#16 through #13

#16. [Last Race: 13th (-3)] — Mikhail Aleshin had a really good run going early on at Iowa, but it also ended early on with a crash. His season has been a major disappointment, especially given how fast he was at pretty much every track at the end of last season. With no top 5 finishes through 11 races so far this season, he needs a decent result so his whole season doesn’t essentially go to waste.. No. 7. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, Honda. MIKHAIL ALESHIN

#15. [Last Race: 14th (-1)] — Marco Andretti, like Mikhail Aleshin, has not finished in the top 5 yet this season and needs a decent result so his whole season doesn’t essentially go to waste. Leading laps late in the race at Iowa after being lapped within minutes of the green flag, albeit doing so off strategy, may be the confidence booster he needs to finally secure his first top 5 finish in over two years.. No. 27. Andretti Autosport, Honda. MARCO ANDRETTI

ED JONES. #14. [Last Race: 8th (-6)] — Ed Jones has had an up-and-down rookie season, as indicated by his huge drop in these rankings after a poor performance at Iowa. However, regardless of how it ends, it has been a success for Jones, who finished in 3rd place at the Indianapolis 500 and took over as the lead driver on a fast Dale Coyne Racing team when Sebastien Bourdais was sidelined with injuries he sustained in a crash.. No. 19. Dale Coyne Racing, Honda

#13. [Last Race: 9th (-4)] — Max Chilton’s race at Iowa was nothing special. It was probably his worst race since before Indianapolis. Given how close he and a number of other drivers are in both the championship standings and in these rankings, he took quite a fall in these rankings. Because of how close some of these drivers toward the middle of the pack are, jumping and dropping in these rankings simply by outperforming or being outperformed in the most recent race was a trend in this edition of rankings.. No. 8. Chip Ganassi Racing, Honda. MAX CHILTON
