#8 and #7

No. 48. Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet. JIMMIE JOHNSON. #8. [Last Race: 8th (-)] — Jimmie Johnson was penalized at the start of the New Hampshire race after starting on the front row, and he never truly recovered before finishing in 10th place. While 10th place isn’t great for a seven-time champion of the sport, that result did tie his best result over the course of the six races since his most recent victory. Johnson, who is tied for the Cup Series lead with three victories, is definitely due for a win in the near future. Maybe he is saving it for the playoffs like usual.

#7. [Last Race: 9th (+2)] — Brad Keselowski sort of bounced back from two consecutive finished outside the top 30 at New Hampshire. But 9th place isn’t exactly something to write home about for a former champion. He and his Team Penske teammate, Joey Logano, have both been extremely inconsistent since their 1-2 finish at Richmond. With the way Keselowski is driving right now, you would not think that he was the first driver to win two races this season. Nevertheless, he is qualified for the playoffs and should be a contender once they arrive.. No. 2. Team Penske, Ford. BRAD KESELOWSKI
