#2 and #1

KYLE LARSON. #2. [Last Race: 2nd (-)] — Kyle Larson is the only driver that has anything for the driver ranked at #1 in these power rankings. While Larson only has two victories this season, he is only a handful of seconds away from being a nine-time winner in 2017. His seven 2nd place finishes give him nine top 2 finishes this season. No other driver has more than five. Unfortunately, a recent 35-point penalty has made his current gap to 1st place in the championship standings tougher to overcome. But don’t count him out.. No. 42. #1. [Last Race: 1st (-)] — Thanks to Kyle Larson’s 35-point penalty, Martin Truex Jr. now not only has a pretty sizable gap to 3rd place in the championship standings but to 2nd place as well. His 3rd place finish at New Hampshire after winning the first stage only added to that lead. The king of stage racing is the best driver that NASCAR has to offer right now, and not just on 1.5-mile ovals. Besides Larson, who is right there with him, Truex Jr. is on another level right now, and he has been all season long.. No. 78. Furniture Row Racing, Toyota. MARTIN TRUEX JR.
