Alex Bowman

Silliest Scenario

The craziest scenario for Alex Bowman would be him literally going nowhere from where he is now. He is currently a test/simulator driver for Hendrick Motorsports, but the team will likely have two open seats for the 2018 season. Given his success in his replacement role for Dale Earnhardt Jr. last season, there is no way the team keeps him where he is at while bringing in two completely new faces to fill the vacant seats.

Less Silly Scenario

Last season, Alex Bowman drove 10 races in Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s car while Earnhardt Jr. recovered from a concussion. It would only make sense that he would join Hendrick Motorsports as a full-time driver. That could get somewhat crazy if he ended up taking Kasey Kahne’s seat in the #5 Chevrolet as opposed to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s. It would still result in him driving for Hendrick Motorsports, but it is not a scenario that many would expect.

Least Silly Scenario

Alex Bowman raced in the #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet last season for 10 races in a replacement role for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. He finished in the top 10 three times with a top finish of 6th place at Phoenix, a race he almost won from the pole position. This season, he has maintained his connection with the team by being a test/simulator driver, as referenced above. With the seat of the #88 car open in 2018, that is likely where Bowman will end up.
