The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series had run seven times at the tricky triangle in the Pocono Mountains heading into Saturday afternoon. There were seven different winners in those races, with Kyle Busch Motorsports winning the last two races at the track. Today, Christopher Bell made it three in a row for KBM and became the eighth different winner in the Trucks at Pocono Raceway.
Bell, who has won six races now in his career in the Trucks, also took over the top spot in the point standings with his win in the Overton’s 150. It was an overall dominating performance for the Kyle Busch Motorsports team, despite two of their trucks wrecking out of the race. Bell would ultimately hold off Ben Rhodes and Ryan Truex for the race victory.
Kyle Busch, moonlighting once again in the Truck Series, was the early favorite to win the race, dominating the first two stages of the event. However, contact with Justin Haley in turn 2, known as the tunnel turn, sent Busch into the wall and out of the race. Later, his teammate Noah Gragson would be eliminated following a collision with Kaz Grala in the same area.
John Hunter Nemechek used pit strategy to get to the lead late, only to fade to 4th by the finish. Johnny Sauter, who started at the rear of the field, rallied back to a 5th place finish. Matt Crafton, Austin Cindric, Cody Coughlin, Chase Briscoe and Justin Haley rounded out the top 10.
