Christopher Bell continued the dominance for Kyle Busch Motorsports this weekend at Pocono. Does this translate into the top of the team power rankings?

NOTE:  The “Last rank” category includes each team’s ranking in the previous edition of the Camping World Truck Series team power rankings.

Not Ranked This Week:

  • JJC Racing
  • Norm Benning Racing
  • Bolen Motorsports
  • Martins Family Racing
  • Beaver Motorsports
  • Copp Motorsports
  • FDNY Racing
  • MB Motorsports
  • Premium Motorsports

MDM Motorsports

Chevrolet

#10

While MDM Motorsports did not field their #99 truck this weekend at Pocono, they have filled the void of the absent Contreras Motorsports team of last year. With guest drivers including Brandon Jones, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, and Timothy Peters, the famous K&N Pro Series and ARCA team ought to think about a full-time entry in 2018.

Halmar Racing

Stewart Friesen, Chevrolet

#9

Last week in Eldora, Halmar Racing and Stewart Friesen were the dark horse to win the Dirt Derby. Coming home in second is practically a win still for the #52 team. It also helped turn around their fortunes, with a 12th place finish at Pocono continuing their momentum since returning to the series at Kentucky.

Niece Motorsports

T.J. Bell, Chevrolet

#8

The underfunded #45 truck showed a surprising amount of speed this weekend at Pocono with driver T.J. Bell. Perhaps the truck can become a top ten vehicle when Travis Pastrana drives for them for a few races later in the 2017 season.

Young’s Motorsports

Austin Hill, Ford

#7

Last year, owner-driver Tyler Young was the feel-good story of the Truck Series. In 2017, Austin Hill took over the ride and has had lots of bumps along the way. But an 11th place finish at Pocono may help turn the tide for this small operation and make them a top ten type of organization.

Brad Keselowski Racing

Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric, Ford

#6

Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric certainly do not drive like rookies for BKR. Both have now emerged as regular fixtures in the top ten, and Briscoe will most certainly find his way to victory lane at some point in 2017. But is the team hurt by being the only Ford operation of note in the series?

GMS Racing

Johnny Sauter, Justin Haley and Kaz Grala, Chevrolet

#5

The defending series champions have lost their form in the summer stretch of the season. The team has been fighting hard to remain contenders for race wins, the opposite of what they need heading into the playoffs in September. Can GMS Racing repeat? If they want to, a turnaround is a must.

Hattori Racing Enterprises

Ryan Truex, Toyota

#4

Perhaps the most pleasant surprise of the 2017 season has been the emergence of Shigeaki Hattori’s squad as a regular feature in a Camping World Truck Series race. Ryan Truex broke a bad string of races with a third-place finish on Saturday, and now is back on the inside of the playoff grid.

NEMCO Motorsports

John Hunter Nemechek, Chevrolet

#3

From nearly shutting down due to lack of funding, to becoming a contender for the championship, NEMCO Motorsports has John Hunter Nemechek back at the front of the Truck Series field. If the team can continue to keep bringing in money for their young star, expect the #8 truck to advance deep into the series playoffs.

Thorsport Racing

Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes, Grant Enfinger

and Cody Coughlin, Toyota

#2

After last week’s win at Eldora with Matt Crafton, ThorSport Racing was knocking on the door of another win on Saturday at Pocono with Ben Rhodes. This is the third race of note in 2017 that Rhodes was a contender late for the victory in, meaning we could see him in victory lane before the end of the season.

NEXT: Christopher Bell wins Overton’s 150 at Pocono

Kyle Busch Motorsports

Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell and Noah Gragson, Toyota

#1

The kings of the Camping World Truck Series just keep on getting richer. Christopher Bell turned what could have been a disastrous day for KBM into a winning one. Despite Kyle Busch and Noah Gragson both crashing out of the event, Bell took yet another win this season to further his playoff aspirations.

Christopher Bell continued the dominance for Kyle Busch Motorsports this weekend at Pocono. Does this translate into the top of the team power rankings?
