NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series will head to Charlotte Motor Speedway to kick off round two of this years playoffs. Austin Dillon was the winner in May, having just enough fuel left to take home the checkered flag. What can we expect this time around in Charlotte?

No doubt, the hottest driver in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series is Kyle Busch. Winner of the last two races, Busch enters Charlotte Motor Speedway with one thing in mind…keep winning. Busch was cruising to a win at Chicagoland when a mishap on pit road ruined his chances at winning. How did the team respond? By winning the next two races at New Hampshire and Dover. This wasn’t a bad way for Busch to kick off the first three races of the playoffs.

However, the winner of the first playoff race was undoubtedly the second hottest driver on the circuit, Martin Truex Jr. Truex Jr. won the opener at Chicagoland and is the points leader heading into the second round.

At any rate, there are several items to keep an eye on entering this weekends race in Charlotte. This weekend is the first of three races that make up the Round of 12 and a good finish is crucial.
