#8 through #5

Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet. JIMMIE JOHNSON. #8. [Last Race: 6th (-2)] — Jimmie Johnson is currently the final driver ahead of the Round of 8 cut line after he wrecked at Talladega and ended up with a 24th place finish, which proves that no one is safe in the playoffs, not even a 7-time champion looking for his record eighth career Cup Series championship.. No. 48

#7. [Last Race: 9th (+2)] — Ryan Blaney racked up lots of stage points and still ended up finishing in 18th place at Talladega even though a late wreck took him out of competition. Because of the positive things I just mentioned, he has himself in a position where a solid result in the final Round of 12 race at Kansas will get him into the Round of 8.. No. 21. Wood Brothers Racing, Ford. RYAN BLANEY

No. 4. Stewart-Haas Racing, Ford. KEVIN HARVICK. #6. [Last Race: 3rd (-3)] — Kevin Harvick was directly involved in two late wrecks at Talladega. While he attempted to keep going after both of them, he was ultimately forced to end his race after the second one. However, he still ended up with a 20th place finish and is well above the Round of 8 cut line in 4th in the standings.

#5. [Last Race: 2nd (-3)] — Once again, Chase Elliott was in a position to potentially win his first career Cup Series race at Talladega. But once again, that did not happen. This time, he ended up wrecking while attempting to take the lead late in the race. However, because so many other drivers wrecked, he still finished in 16th place and is still well above the Round of 8 cut line in 6th in the standings.. No. 24. Hendrick Motorsports, Chevrolet. CHASE ELLIOTT
