Front Row Motorsports, Ford

Front Row Motorsports recently confirmed that Landon Cassill will not drive the #34 Ford next season. This announcement came as no surprise to most people, as Cassill has never spent more than two years in a row with a team since he began driving in the Cup Series back in the 2010 season before getting his first full-time ride in 2012.

The 28-year-old Cassill has also not had a great Cup Series career, so it stands to reason that yet another team is letting him go after no more than two full seasons. In 254 career starts, he has just one top 10 finish, and that was in the 2014 season at Talladega when he finished in 4th place. As a Front Row Motorsports driver, he has just one top 15 finish in 67 races, and that was an 11th place finish at Talladega last year.

There have also been rumors that Front Row Motorsports may completely clean house and let David Ragan go next season as well. The 31-year-old Ragan is in his first season with the team since he drove for them three years in a row from 2012 to 2014. He has finished in the top 10 just three times so far this season, with all three of those top 10 results coming on restrictor plate tracks, but he did win a race for the organization back in the 2013 season at Talladega.

But until the speculation about Ragan being let go is confirmed if it indeed does end up being confirmed, Patrick’s only potential option at Front Row Motorsports would be the #34 Ford (unless, of course, upon Cassill’s departure from the team, Ragan shifts back to the #34 Ford he drove from 2012 to 2014, in which case Patrick could land in the #38 Ford–but numbers really don’t matter anyway–sorry, William Byron and Chase Elliott).
