Martinsville Prediction #4 – Someone will get wrecked and it will finally give us a new rivalry

Rivalries in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2017 have been quiet; a little bit too quiet. What Martinsville will provide us for Halloween is a new storyline of two drivers who have had just about enough of each other.

For example, at Martinsville in 2015, one of the best acts of revenge took place on the track. Although the feud has seemed to have died down between Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano, there is still history at the paperclip between the two drivers.

A week prior to Martinsville at Kansas Speedway, Joey Logano hit the rear corner of Kenseth’s car while both were battling for the win. Kenseth did not forget about the run-in and made it well-known the next week at Martinsville. Driving ten laps down, Kenseth just happened to have a “car issue” and turned into Logano, who was leading at the time. It was without a doubt one of the craziest things to happen in 2015.

Sure, there have been some small feuds but nothing to the extent of what could be called a rivalry. By the time Monday rolls around, there will be a new driver rivalry that gets the media all stirred up and fans excited to see what the two drivers do to each other next. Luckily, the track we’re headed to should provide us with just that.
