Thanksgiving Award #2 – Corn, Potatoes and Cranberry Sauce Award

Ah, the pieces of Thanksgiving that you can find at just about every table across the nation. However, they are the items that come so close to being the favorite but just aren’t the top pick of best Thanksgiving food. This year’s “Corn, Potatoes and Cranberry Sauce Award” goes to Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick.

It is true that one cannot have a Thanksgiving feast without these items. However, all three are not the main attraction. These three drivers all finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, which is close to the big prize, yet so far away. Kyle Busch looked as though he would catch Martin Truex Jr. at the end of the race at Homestead-Miami, but he was unsuccessful and had to settle for silver.

The good news for these drivers is that they will all more than likely be in championship contention next year. Kyle Busch is probably the early favorite to win it all in 2018. Ford drivers Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski will stay hungry and be in the hunt in 2018. Ultimately, for now, these three drivers will have to settle for being side dishes to the main course.
