B. Team Penske started the season hot and appeared to have both of their drivers locked into the playoffs. However, Joey Logano’s win at Richmond was encumbered, and he ended up not qualifying for the playoffs. Brad Keselowski did still, however, advance to the Championship 4, although he was not a factor to win the title toward the end of the championship finale at Homestead-Miami.. Team Penske. Ford. Stewart-Haas Racing. Ford. STEWART-HAAS RACING . B+. Stewart-Haas Racing won just three races this season. Two of their four drivers made it into the playoffs, with Kurt Busch getting in simply because of his first career Daytona 500 win. While Kevin Harvick did qualify for the Championship 4 and finish as the highest non-Toyota driver in the final standings, this team as a whole did not have a particularly amazing season.

Wood Brothers Racing. Ford. WOOD BROTHERS RACING . A-. Wood Brothers Racing’s lone driver, Ryan Blaney, won his first career NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono this season, and he made it all the way to the Round of 8 in his first career playoff appearance. He was just a few points away from advancing to his first career Championship 4 and battling for the 2017 title as a 23-year-old.
