The 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season is officially in the books. Here are way-too-early driver power rankings for the 2018 season, which is set to start next February.

With the 36-race 2017 NASCAR Cup Series schedule having been completed, this means that even though we have almost three months until the 2018 Daytona 500, which will kick off the 2018 season in February, it is time to start looking ahead to next year.

As far as drivers go, the four Championship 4 drivers from the 2017 season were Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski. It was Truex Jr. coming away with his first career Cup Series championship. Will these drivers return to the Championship 4 in 2018?

Truex Jr. led the Cup Series in wins by far with eight victories throughout the season, including three in the playoffs. The next closest driver was Kyle Busch, who won five races, three of which were also in the playoffs. Kyle Larson also won four races, all of which in the regular season, with five other drivers getting to Victory Lane multiple times.

Here are way-too-early driver power rankings in preparation for the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.

NOTE: There may be some drivers in these rankings who do not end up being in the series full-time next season, and there may be some drivers that end up as full-time drivers next season who are not included in these rankings.
