NASCAR: Coaches who would make great crew chiefs

There are many similarities between coaching and being a NASCAR crew chief. Which current coaches would make great crew chiefs?

In NASCAR, crew chiefs are the coaches of the race team. What coaches would make great crew chiefs?

Have you ever wondered if a coach you see by the bench or on the sideline would make a great crew chief? They call the shots and make the important strategy calls when the games are on the line. No doubt this is very similar to a NASCAR crew chief’s responsibilities.

When the game is on the line, who keeps cool under pressure? What coaches are known as being “clutch” when little time is remaining? There is a special gift some coaches or managers possess that allows them to make the right calls at the right times. These people are the ones with rings and trophy rooms in their houses.

Of course the NASCAR world is very different than other sports. However, there are several similarities with coaching and being a crew chief. Let’s take a look at who in the sports world I feel would make great NASCAR crew chiefs.
