NASCAR: Stewart-Haas Racing 2018 outlook
Kevin Harvick
There is not much to say about Kevin Harvick. He’s good, and he’ll more than likely remain that way in 2018. In the last five years, he’s only finished outside of the top 3 in the standings once and that was in 2016 when he finished in 8th.
It would be easy to just end it with the not-so-bold prediction that Harvick will continue to put up the same numbers and we’ll see him at Homestead, and honestly, that’s what I’m going to do.
Trust me, I don’t want to take the lazy way out with my predictions, but Harvick could go down as one of the most underrated drivers in NASCAR history. His talent is at the level of Jimmie Johnson, just without the record to boast it yet.
The truth is, this past season was a more grounded season compared to 2015 and 2016 and he still finished 3rd in the standings.
Now that he and crew chief Rodney Childers were given a season to get used to a new manufacturer, I expect his numbers to jump back up and could see him winning the regular season championship.
