The 2018 Mexico City ePrix is officially in the books. Which Formula E drivers finished where in the race’s finishing order?
The fifth race of the 12-race 2017-2018 Formula E season took place today following a one-month break since the most recent race, which was the Santiago ePrix at the Santiago Street Circuit in Santiago, Chile.
Today’s race was the Mexico City ePrix at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico. Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s Daniel Abt won the 47-lap race around the 18-turn, 1.30-mile track.
Abt held off NIO Formula E Team’s Oliver Turvey, the race’s 2nd place finisher, by 6.398 seconds. Turvey was closely following by 3rd place finisher Sebastien Buemi, 4th place finisher Nelson Piquet Jr., 5th place finisher Jean-Eric Vergne and 6th place finisher Mitch Evans.

The drivers from 2nd to 6th place finished within 2.7 seconds of each other. However, the time drop-off from Evans to 7th place finisher Antonio Felix da Costa was more than eight seconds.
Abt’s win is his first of the season, and he is now the fourth different driver to win a race through five races so far this season. He sits in 6th place in the championship standings as a result of this victory.
Vergne maintained the lead of the standings despite the fact that he finished in 5th place out of the 20 drivers entered in the race, as he has yet to finish a race outside of the top 5 this season.
