Formula E: Team Power Rankings after Punta del Este ePrix in Uruguay
By Asher Fair
The 2017-2018 Formula E season is officially halfway over thanks to the completion of the sixth race. How are the team power rankings looking?
The 2018 Punta del Este ePrix at the 20-turn, 1.7-mile Punta del Este Street Circuit in Punta del Este, Uruguay is in the books, meaning six races of the 2017-2018 Formula E season have been completed and six still remain on the schedule.
In the Punta del Este ePrix, Jean-Eric Vergne won his second race of the season. In fact, he has now won two of the last three races that have been contested. In winning those two races, he has given Techeetah their two wins so far this season as well.
Vergne is the only driver aside of Mahindra Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist who has won more than one race so far this season. Rosenqvist’s two victories make Mahindra Racing the only team aside of Techeetah that have won more than one race so far this season as well.

By winning the Punta del Este ePrix, Vergne more than doubled his lead in the driver standings over Rosenqvist. He led the standings by 12 points over Rosenqvist before the race, and he now leads by 30.
The other Techeetah driver, who is Andre Lotterer, and the other Mahindra Racing driver, who is Nick Heidfeld, both failed to score points in the Punta del Este ePrix, so Techeetah were able to stretch their lead over Mahindra Racing in the team standings by the same amount of points that Vergne was able to extend his lead over Rosenqvist in the driver standings.
Coming into the race, Techeetah led Mahindra Racing in the team standings by nine points. They tripled that in the race and now lead by 27 points. How did this affect the Formula E Team Power Rankings?
