Kevin Magnussen

Kevin Magnussen, 25, drives full-time for Haas in Formula 1. His results are not the greatest over the course of his career in the sport, but considering the fact that he has never driven for a top-tier team, he has really done a solid job.

Magnussen opened up his Formula 1 career in the 2014 season driving for McLaren, and he finished in second place in his first career race, the Australian Grand Prix. But since then, there have been a lot of frustrating moments, races and seasons for him, and he has not finished a single race in the top four and he has never finished a season in the top 10 in the championship standings.

The 2018 Formula 1 season began with promise for Magnussen, who vaulted himself into fourth place at the start of the Australian Grand Prix, the season opener. However, a tire issue would end his race prematurely, and he has not had a race that great since then.

He can certainly outperform his equipment, but not to the extent where he can regularly compete for victories or even for podium finishes. Unless he gets a ride with one of the top teams in Formula 1, which does not appear likely seeing has how there are so many candidates to potentially drive for teams such as Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, Scuderia Ferrari and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing in the next few seasons, Magnussen may consider coming across the pond to compete in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Magnussen even stated that if he does leave Formula 1, he wants to not only drive in the Indy 500 one day, but he wants to become a full-time IndyCar driver as well. However, he would not go out of his way to leave Formula 1 to make either of those things happen. Here is what he had to say about the matter, according to Crash.net.

"“I would love to do it. I would never put aside Formula 1 to do it, but I would love to do it. It’s one of those things that I dream about at night sometimes. It’s just something that really turns me on. It would require full focus, and I’d like to do more than just the Indy 500. I’d like to do a full season of IndyCar if I was going to do it I think. But whether I’ll get a chance to do that, I don’t know. If I race here for 15 years, then would you really want to go and do that after? Maybe. Maybe not.”"
