29. . #3, Point Guard. Los Angeles Lakers. ISAIAH THOMAS

Isaiah Thomas, 29, is a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He has played for five different teams since he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. In addition to the Lakers and Kings, he has played for the Phoenix Suns, the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

This past season, Thomas, who is 5’9″ tall and weighs 185 pounds, played in 32 games and averaged 26.9 minutes per game, 15.2 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, 4.8 assists per game, 0.1 blocks per game, and 0.5 steals per game. He shot 37.3% from the field, 29.3% from three-point range, and 89.3% from the free throw line.

Over the course of his seven-year career in the NBA, Thomas has played in 473 games and averaged 29.8 minutes per game, 18.9 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game, 5.1 assists per game, 0.1 blocks per game, and 0.9 steals per game. He is shooting 43.9% from the field, 36.1% from three-point range, and 87.7% from the free throw line.

Thomas achieved his career-high of 82 games played in the 2015-2016 season, his career-high of 34.7 average minutes per game in the 2013-2014 season, his career-high of 28.9 average points per game in the 2016-2017 season, his career-high of 3.0 average rebounds per game in the 2015-2016 season, his career-high of 6.3 average assists per game in the 2013-2014 season, his career-high of 0.2 average blocks per game in the 2016-2017 season, and his career-high of 1.3 average steals per game in the 2013-2014 season

Thomas achieved his career-high shooting percentage of 46.3% in the 2016-2017 season, his career-high three-point shooting percentage of 37.9% in the 2011-2012 season and the 2016-2017 season, and his career-high free throw shooting percentage of 90.9% in the 2016-2017 season.

At only 5’9″ and 185 pounds, size would not be an issue for Thomas in terms of fitting in an IndyCar, and he certainly does not lack the athleticism it takes to drive one.
