Jose Altuve
Jose Altuve, 28, is a second baseman for the Houston Astros of the MLB. He has played for the Astros ever since making his MLB debut in the 2011 season.
So far this season, Altuve is 52 for 165 (.315 batting average) with two home runs, 17 runs batted in and 23 runs scored. He has also stolen two bases.
Over the course of his eight-year career in the MLB, Altuve is 1,302 for 4,112 (.317 batting average) with 86 home runs, 420 runs batted in and 584 runs scored. He has also stolen 233 bases.
Altuve achieved his career-high of a .346 batting average in the 2017 season, his career-high of 24 home runs in both the 2016 season and the 2017 season, his career-high of 96 runs batted in in the 2016 season, his career-high of 112 runs scored in the 2017 season, and his career-high of 56 stolen bases in the 2014 season.
He also earned the 2017 American League Most Valuable Player Award.
As noted by his insane stolen base statistics, Altuve is extremely athletic and quick, which bodes well for any IndyCar driver. At 5’6″, 164 pounds, he fits the profile for an average IndyCar driver and would easily be able to fit in an IndyCar cockpit.
