By Asher Fair
Johnny Sauter won for the third time in seven races so far in the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season, and he did so in the NC Education Lottery 200.
Johnny Sauter won his third race of the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season by winning the NC Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway from the pole position. He held off NASCAR Cup Series regular Kyle Busch by 1.34 seconds to win the race.
Sauter’s victory was his third through seven races so far this season in his #21 GMS Racing Chevrolet, and it was his second in the last three races, as he also won at Dover International Speedway two weeks ago.
Sauter is pulling away in the championship standings and in the playoff standings as a result of his success so far this season, which includes just one finish outside of the top five.
