For the first time in the 2018 season and the 92nd time in his career, Kyle Busch claimed a victory in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and he did so at Pocono Raceway.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch ended a four-race win drought in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which is pretty long by his standards, by winning the Pocono Green 250 at Pocono Raceway for his first win of the 2018 Xfinity Series season. The four-race win drought that he ended was his longest since his eight-race win drought that took place in the middle of the 2014 season.

Busch’s victory is his 92nd career Xfinity Series win, which extends his all-time record to 43 wins ahead of the driver in second place on the all-time list. That driver is Mark Martin, who claimed 49 career victories in the Xfinity Series.

Busch, who was issued a pit road speeding penalty early on in the race, led 64 of the race’s 100 laps around the three-turn, 2.5-mile Pocono Raceway triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania in his #18 Toyota. He won the race by 2.852 seconds over the highest finishing Chevrolet driver, who was GMS Racing’s Chase Elliott in his #23 Chevrolet in second place.

Team Penske’s Austin Cindric was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race. He finished in fourth place in his #12 Ford. Busch won stage one and Cindric’s teammate Paul Menard, who finished in eighth in his #22 Ford, won stage two before Busch went on to win the race.

The race featured a total of seven lead changes among six drivers. Aside of Busch, a total of six drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Cindric, race polesitter Cole Custer, John Hunter Nemechek, Paul Menard and David Starr.

The race also featured a total of five caution flag periods for 18 laps. Of the 40 drivers who started the race, 33 finished it. Of the 33 drivers who finished the race, 19 did so on the lead lap.
