Brett Moffitt earned his second victory of the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season by winning the M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway.

Hattori Racing Enterprises’ Brett Moffitt won for the second time in the 2018 NASCAR Truck Series season on Saturday night at Iowa Speedway. He took the checkered flag in front of the rest of the field in his #16 Toyota in the M&M’s 200 at the four-turn, 0.875-mile oval in Newton, Iowa.

The M&M’s 200 was the ninth race of the 23-race 2018 Truck Series season. Moffitt also won the second race of the season, which was the Active Pest Control 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. That race was held back in February.

Moffitt, who started the M&M’s 200 in 16th place, won the race by just 0.333 seconds over second place finisher Noah Gragson, who drives the #18 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota. On the final lap of the race, Gragson dove to the inside of Moffitt into turn three. He got ahead of him, but he slid up and hit the wall. Moffitt retook the lead and took the checkered flag.

Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Harrison Burton, the race polesitter, finished just 0.450 seconds behind Moffitt in third in his #51 Toyota.

DGR Crosley’s David Gilliland rounded out the top four in his #54 Toyota, giving Toyota a clean sweep of the top four finishing positions in the race. GMS Racing’s Johnny Sauter, who finished in fifth place, was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver in his #21 Chevrolet, and JJL Motorsports’ Jesse Little, who finished in sixth, was the highest finishing Ford driver in his #97 Ford.

The race featured a total of seven lead changes among seven drivers. Aside of Moffitt, who led a race-high 76 laps of 200 laps that took place, six other drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Gragson, Burton, Christian Eckes, who was making his Truck Series debut, Stewart Friesen, Matt Crafton and John Hunter Nemechek. Nemechek won the first stage of the race, while Friesen won the second.

The race also featured a total of six caution flag periods for 44 laps, with four taking place as a result of on-track incidents and two taking place as a result of the endings the first and second stages. Of the 32 drivers who started the race, 22 finished it. Of the 22 drivers who finished the race, 12 did so on the lead lap.
