How did the action from the seventh road or street course race of the 2018 IndyCar season affect how the sport’s drivers rank against one another?

The seventh of 11 road and street course races on the 2018 IndyCar schedule is in the books. That race, the Kohler Grand Prix, was held last Sunday, and it resulted in the second road or street course race victory of the season for Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden.

Newgarden won the Kohler Grand Prix in his #1 Chevrolet after leading 53 of its 55 laps around the 14-turn, 4.048-mile (6.515-kilometer) Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. He only failed to lead two of the race’s laps as a result of the fact that he made his first pit stop before Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, who led the other two laps in his #9 Honda.

By winning the Kohler Grand Prix, Newgarden became the first driver to win multiple road or street course races so far in the 2018 season. Both of Newgarden’s wins in these races have come in road course races. He is responsible for winning two of the three road course races that have been held so far this year.

Newgarden’s other road course race victory came at Barber Motorsports Park back in April. The other road course race was also won by a Chevrolet driver who is also a Team Penske driver. That race was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, and it was won by Will Power in his #12 Chevrolet.

How did Newgarden’s victory and the rest of the action from the seventh road or street course race of the 2018 IndyCar season affect the IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings? Here are the formulated IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings and the non-formulated IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings following the Kohler Grand Prix.
