How do the 20 full-time IndyCar drivers stack up against one another with 11 races down and six races to go on the 2018 schedule?

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ James Hinchcliffe earned his first victory of the 2018 IndyCar season by winning the Iowa Corn 300, which was the 11th of 17 races on the schedule.

By winning the 300-lap race around the four-turn, 0.894-mile (1.439-kilometer) Iowa Speedway oval in Newton, Iowa, Hinchcliffe became the seventh different driver to win at least one race so far this season.

Of the seven drivers who have won at least won race so far in 2018, only three have won multiple races. Those three drivers are Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Will Power as well as Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon. They have won three, two and two races, respectively.

Aside of Hinchcliffe, three drivers have earned exactly one victory so far this year. Those three drivers are Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay and Alexander Rossi along with Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais.

In short, the parity that exists within IndyCar has been on full display this season, as there are several drivers representing several teams who could very well end up in victory lane in any given race.

Hinchcliffe’s victory at Iowa Speedway after he failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500, a race that he has led the first lap of in three of his last five attempts, demonstrates this concept of parity perfectly.

How did the action from Iowa Speedway affect the IndyCar Driver Power Rankings? Here are the formulated IndyCar Driver Power Rankings and the non-formulated IndyCar Driver Power Rankings following Hinchcliffe’s first victory of the 2018 season.
