NASCAR Xfinity Series: 2018 Alsco 300 at Kentucky results – Christopher Bell wins
By Asher Fair
Christopher Bell earned his second victory of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the season’s 17th race, the Alsco 300.
Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell took the checkered flag in front of the rest of the field in the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway to earn his second victory of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. The win was Toyota’s fourth of the season.
The 200-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky was the 17th race of the 33-race 2018 Xfinity Series season. Bell’s other victory so far this season came at Richmond Raceway in what was the eighth race of the season.
Bell qualified in 12th place for the race, but he was sent to the rear of the field at the start due to an unapproved tire change after he spun in qualifying. He won the race in his #20 Toyota by 0.848 seconds over second place finisher Daniel Hemric after leading 17 of its laps.
Hemric was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver of the race in his #21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch finished in third in his #18 Toyota. JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier finished in fourth place in his #7 Chevrolet.
