Christopher Bell earned his second victory of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the season’s 17th race, the Alsco 300.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell took the checkered flag in front of the rest of the field in the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway to earn his second victory of the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. The win was Toyota’s fourth of the season.

The 200-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky was the 17th race of the 33-race 2018 Xfinity Series season. Bell’s other victory so far this season came at Richmond Raceway in what was the eighth race of the season.

Bell qualified in 12th place for the race, but he was sent to the rear of the field at the start due to an unapproved tire change after he spun in qualifying. He won the race in his #20 Toyota by 0.848 seconds over second place finisher Daniel Hemric after leading 17 of its laps.

Hemric was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver of the race in his #21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch finished in third in his #18 Toyota. JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier finished in fourth place in his #7 Chevrolet.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer, the race polesitter, was the highest finishing Ford driver of the race. He finished in fifth in his #00 Ford.

The race featured a total of eight lead changes among seven drivers. Aside of Bell, a total of six drivers led at least one lap of the race. Those drivers were Hemric, Busch, Allgaier, Custer, John Hunter Nemechek and Michael Annett. Busch, who won stage one, led more laps than anybody else in the field with 111 laps led. Nemechek won stage two and finished the race in seventh place after leading 14 of its laps.

The race also featured a total of seven caution flag periods for 32 laps. Of those seven caution flag periods, five took place as a result of on-track incidents, as two caution flag periods took place as a result of the endings of stages one and two like usual.

A total of 40 drivers started the race, which has been the case in each of the 17 races that have been held so far this season. Of those 40 drivers, 31 finished the race. A total of 18 drivers finished the race on the lead lap.
