IndyCar Driver Road/Street Power Rankings after 2018 Honda Indy Toronto
By Asher Fair
How do the 21 IndyCar road and street course drivers stack up against one another with three road course races remaining on the 2018 schedule?
The 17-race 2018 IndyCar schedule consists of 11 road or street course races and six oval races. Of those 11 road or street course races, six are road course races and five are street course races. Three road course races remain on the schedule, but all five street course races are in the books.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon won the fifth and final street course race of the season, which was the eighth of 11 road or street course races, in his #9 Honda. The win is his second and final street course victory of the season, and it is also his second road or street course victory of the season, as he has not yet won a road course race in 2018.
Dixon’s second street course victory of the season came in the 85-lap Honda Indy Toronto around the 11-turn, 1.786-mile (2.874-kilometer) temporary street circuit at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. With two street course victories in 2018, he has clinched the top spot in the street course victory total category among all drivers.
Three drivers won the other three street course races that were held in 2018. Andretti Autosport teammates Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay as well as Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais each earned one street course victory this year.
With two road or street course victories so far in 2018, Dixon is tied with Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden for the top spot in the road or street course victory total category. Both of Newgarden’s road or street course victories came in road course races. Team Penske’s Will Power won the other road course race that was contested earlier this season.

NOTE: Despite the fact that Gabby Chaves did not drive the #88 Harding Racing Chevrolet in the Honda Indy Toronto, he is still included in both sets of IndyCar Driver Road and Street Course Power Rankings as a result of the fact that Harding Racing have not cut ties with him and he is still technically considered a full-time driver.
